The Silence of Slavery

"Is not the slave trade entirely at war with the heart of man? And surely that which is begun by breaking down the barriers or virtue, involves in it continuance destruction to every principle, buries all sentiments in ruin. When you make men slaves. you ... compel them to live with you in a state of war" - Olaudah Equiano, former slave This article talks about the act of slavery in North America (Present day USA) 1619 - 1865. The main reason slavery started was because when the North American land form was once settled by Europeans, the territory was enormous, the work given was cruel. After on, the article continue to talk about the lifestyle and the treachery the slaves been through. Text to world. Even though the article is world it's related to many events, since there are countless events of slavery even still acts of slavery happen today. There are even international days to represent the abolition of slavery. But most people in the world wouldn't have a change of heart. Even when it comes to someone special. Also this can be related to the world because other countries show their own aspect on terms of slavery.

    I included this because i wanted to know more about slavery before i started this assignment i knew small about slavery and know that i know a lot about slavery i can call myself African -American. Starting this course i really wanted to get a chance to know more about slavery because knowing are background and how things went back then is really intriguing. The connections i can make about this is world to media and world to global because every know and then i hear or watch about slavery, which makes me think if people really know how harmful slavery is. And isn't just that, how people would make a racist jokes towards that which really want me to smack them with knowledge about slavery . This century is full of hatred and racism
